The Guide

Reading your own pipeline before it goes quiet.

A plain field guide for leaders of established firms. Read it here, in a few minutes. It is the same thinking we bring to every Reachable Buyer Map.

Signs your growth runs on the calendar

None of these are failures. They are what happens when good firms get busy. If more than a couple sound familiar, your pipeline depends on timing more than on design.

  • New work arrives in waves, and the waves follow your busiest people, not your plan.
  • When someone asks where next quarter's clients will come from, the honest answer is a list of names you hope will call.
  • The trade show is the biggest sales event of the year, and the follow-up gets squeezed by delivery.
  • Your website describes what you do. It does not answer what a buyer is worried about.
  • You have tried outreach before, it felt like spam, and you quietly stopped.

The four channels, and what each one asks of you

Referrals

The channel you already trust. It brings the best conversations and the least control. Keep it. Just stop asking it to carry the whole company.

Outbound

Going to a buyer directly. Done badly, it is noise. Done well, it is research first: who this person is, what their company is dealing with, and why a note from you is worth their minute. That means one person at a time, with a human checking the words.

Content

Your site, your articles, your video, your press. The job is simple to say and hard to do: answer the questions a buyer asks before they ever talk to a vendor. Buyers now put those questions to AI assistants too, and the firms with clear, specific answers are the ones that get named.

Paid

Useful when you know exactly who you want and what to say. Wasteful when you do not. Paid tends to work best after the other channels have taught you which message lands.

Questions worth asking this week

  • If our two most reliable referral sources went quiet, what would we do?
  • Which buyers would value us most, and how would they find us if nobody introduced us?
  • Who on our team owns new business when the calendar is full?
  • If we built something that worked, would we own it, or would we be renting it?

When you want a second read

We will look at your firm the way this guide describes and write it up for you. Which channels you run, which sit idle, and where an engine would fit. That is the Reachable Buyer Map. It costs nothing and asks nothing of you after.
